Elm Street Bridge
Elm Street Bridge
Paper Size: 19” x 13”
This detailed linocut was inspired by a view from Musketaquid Road of the Elm Street bridge in Concord, MA. Though not as well known as some other bridges in our town, this is one of my favorites during late summer with its delightfully overgrown field leading to the river.
This image has been printed by hand using oil-based inks on archival quality paper. It is a limited edition print. Each print is signed and numbered. Please allow for ever-so-slight variation from the photographs due to the nature of printing by hand. This print is not mounted or framed.
All of my artwork begins as a sketch, which is then translated onto linoleum and hand-carved for printing. Most of my work I press by hand with a barren, but a small few are pressed on a linocut printing press.

Sketch, carve, ink, print…
Printmaking begins with a sketch.
It is a translation of that image, simplified, through shadow and light, to create the final picture than can be carved into linoleum.
